About
So, you want to know more about me?
Who I am?
What makes me tick?
What makes me an awesome coach, blogger, and friend?
Well, first, let’s say hello.
There – now that wasn’t so bad, right? No small talk. No boredom. Just a simple “hello” and “nice to meet you.”
Now, let’s move on to the deep stuff. Here’s what I love:
My husband, Doug:
My cats, Cocoa and Peaches:
I love laughter. Oh baby, do I love to laugh. Laughter is the best way to raise my good vibrations. It’s why I write my blog.
I love a spicy curry and chutney on a cold day in Montana. I love folk festivals. I love singing “Angel in Montgomery” like Bonnie Raitt and John Prine do and jamming with Doug to the Beatles, Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, and Fleetwood Mac. I am so grateful that I could pay for college singing classical arias and will someday sing, “Nulla in Mundo Pax Sincera” by Vivaldi in concert. I heart Vivaldi, Brahms, Schubert, and Handel.
My idea of wealthy? Reading a great book in bed in the afternoon with absolutely no stress or worry about doing anything else. I earned an English degree by reading in bed.
I love to travel to foreign countries, and learn, and listen. I love to stay in my own kitchen and dance while I make dinner.
Hiking in Glacier National Park makes me feel blissful. I love Wilderness and Wild things. I’ve been paid to protect Wilderness and Wolves and I’m so proud of that work I could cry.
I love to write. Journalism taught me that the world is complex and gray and that people are incredibly interesting. My first novel is “this close” to being published and I am thrilled to share it with the world. I love my co-authors.
I love my family. My nieces and nephews teach me something new about the world every time I connect with them. My sister taught me that I could run a half-marathon and that I could absolutely adore Hot Yoga.
I love to coach. Why?
Because I want to see people experience joy and emotional freedom. I want to see them experience health. I want to give them the same gift that my coaches gave me.
Who do I coach?
I work with people with multiple food allergies and food intolerances. I help them redefine their relationship with food, and remove the words “overwhelm” and “deprivation” from their vocabularies. I teach them powerful tools to ease the stress and anxiety they have around food. I do this having experienced every negative emotion and thought that my clients have had about food. I’ve been in the emergency room six times with anaphylaxis, a life-threatening reaction I’ve experienced to peanuts and medication. Last year, I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, an auto-immune disorder triggered by the gluten in wheat, rye, barley, and other grains. At the same time, I also found out I was intolerant to all dairy, eggs, sugar, almonds, asparagus, bananas, and pineapple. Eight months later, I am the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’ve lost 35 pounds, cook almost all of my own meals, and feel great. But I didn’t do it alone. I had support from my naturopath, my friends, and most of all, my coaches.
How do I coach?
Right now, I’m coaching for free! That’s right, I’m currently enrolled in coach training, and will be certified in May. During training, I’ll be working with volunteers to apply the tools I’m learning. I’m getting training from one of the best in the business, Brooke Castillo, an amazing Master Certified Martha Beck life coach who specializes in weight loss coaching. I’m currently creating several programs and products and will be launching a new redesign of my blog and website soon.
If you are interested in coaching with me for FREE, please contact me at: Janelle (underscore) Holden (at) hotmail (dot) com or by phone at: 406-223-0962.
I can’t wait to meet you.
I know I’ll love you.
