You'll forget that you're even sick! My mother was a big fan of Vicks, too. Getting a fever or a sore throat was one of the few times we got to drink soda pop when we were little. We'd get Seven-Up -- that was our only option. I'm not sure of the medical theory behind that. We also gargled with salt water. I remember watching General Hospital a few times I was home sick from school.
