I definitely don't think you're crazy, unless it's cat-crazy, and there's no cure for that. We had our cat on a harness when he was young so he wouldn't leave the yard, but then we stopped using it and just kept him inside. He will go onto the deck, but seldom leaves it except to sniff a few flowers. We also tried to train him to use the toilet, following the training steps in an article.
